New City Church exists to cultivate a gospel-centered community that multiplies disciples of Jesus and churches for the glory of God.
“Jesus... said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
“But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.”
New City Church desires to be a community that is built on the person and work of Jesus Christ, used for the glory of God in our city, and that seeks the renewal of all things through the Gospel.
Our Gospel Identities
We are the people of God... But how do we glorify God in the world? How does our identity in Christ shape how we live daily, with other Christians, and interact with the world? The answers to these questions inform what we call our Gospel Identities.
What We Believe
New City Church is rooted in Biblical faith, a faith that has been handed down over the centuries— from the Apostles & Prophets of Scripture, to the Fathers of the early church, and articulated afresh during the Protestant Reformation of the 1500's.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He is the center of human history.
We believe in the active presence and power of Holy Spirit— that even now He is at work in the midst of His people.
We believe that God the Father has called us together to be a people who belong to Him and live for Him and that He has made us a part of His eternal family— brothers and sisters with all the saints: past, present, and future!
We are also a part of two larger Christian bodies as well, the Christian Reformed Church of North America and the Acts 29 Network.
